| Infos techniques | Some of the design features are: all compound curves, under fuselage and wing leading edge (with integral ribs) to be fibreglas; an all-moving, anti-balance tabbed tail; and the use of P·K screws where possible. |
| Histoire résumée | The Dust Devil design is the result of acute frustration suffered at the 1958 Torrey Pines Meet, conceived to fill a personal desire to soar with his own wings. Toward this end he has withdrawn from all other outside interests and pledged himself to concentrated work on the project. However, he would remind everyone that talk is cheap and the proof will be in the flying.
Walt is an MIT AES alumnus, now employed as an aeronautical engineer in Convair's preliminary design section. |
